Exploring Potential
It is important to me to try to leave this world a better place. Not just for my children or children's children, but also for society in general. I attempt to accomplish this goal by devoting myself to three major areas: science, family, and service. You can read more about my progress on the first two on other pages of this site.
I have recently started an internet business designed to get people to think about their goals and learn how to accomplish them. It has been a lot of fun trying to figure out how to motivate the masses. I hope that this site will have a large positive impact on the world.
I am an active officer of Berkeley Rotaract. This is a junior version of the Rotary Club, whose motto is "Service above self." After three years of successfuly marrow registration drives at Vanderbilt, I brought the project to Berkeley and have found matches for those needing marrow to save their lives! To learn more about the drive, please visit my Marrow-thon page.
Our Rotaract group is very active at Berkeley. We do everything from tree planting to soup kitchens. Being a relatively small group, there is a lot of flexibility to do the projects in which I am interested.
I am also a physics mentor. Though I'll mentor anyone who will listen to me and answer questions for more than five minutes, I officially mentor physics undergraduates and one physics graduate at Berkeley. Mainly, I help them figure out what they want to do with their lives after college and the steps that need to be taken to help accomplish their goals. Though I don't expect them to necessarily follow all of my advice, it's a lot of fun to give it. I'll try to get some pictures up soon of us hanging out, which often consists of eating or playing Nintendo Wii video games. Fieldtrips have included the Exploritorium and a chocolate factory!
