The Past

I have been in several bands, including Electric Reign and Catch 23.  In all of those bands, I have been the lead singer and rhythm guitarist.  The bands played mainly in the local area.  We normally played stuff from classic rock to alternative rock.

I began writing my own songs when I was 13.  At first, they weren't much to speak of; but eventually, my talent grew.  Today, I have over one hundred complete songs with both lyrics and music.  As far as my style, I've heard many varying opinions, such as Ani DiFranco, Jewel, Radiohead,
and the Cranberries.

In May 2001, I recorded a solo album of my original music.  It includes my favorite ten songs, such as After One and Open Up Your Eyes.  The CD only costs $5.00, just enough to cover my expenses for it.  I highly suggest checking this out.  I will be recording my second CD sometime soon.  After that, I would really enjoy being involved with a band again.
The Present

I've recorded three CDs, "Looking for Something More" "A Part of You, " and "Early Micky." As you have probably already guessed, "Early Micky" included many of my songs that I wrote very early in my songwriting career. On it, you will also find two songs, "Melancholy Today" and "Kennedy's!?!," with lyrics and titles by my dear friend James McKee Jr. and music and vibe by myself. My other CD includes hits, such as "Just a Little Bit" and "Do It." These CDs are no longer for purchase, but contact me if you are interested in hearing them.
The Future

Music is a great hobby. I wonderful way to blow off some steam. I don't want to do it for a career. The starving artist or constantly touring musician don't sound very appealing to em. Though, I enjoy practicing a playing for a local gig from time to time. Let me know if you'd like to jam.

"Micky Barry is an exciting new sensation to folk rock music. She combines the ideas of protest, joy, and love in a wonderfully balanced emotional environment. Audience favorites, "After One" and "Nothing," will remind you of your own curious questions about life."

Micky Barry's first album shines with the brilliance of a talented songwriter and the personality of a truly deep thinker. Her album, recorded with all the money she could put together, gives an insight into the light and dark milieu that is her mind. The production is rough at parts, but overall the emotion and the inspiration which created these works fills the listener's ears, and leaves them waiting for her next album. This is truly one of the best independent albums I have ever heard, and definitely worth buying."

Ihre erste CD-Eigenproduktion "A Part of You" klingt sehr vielversprechend und ist exzellent vom Sound abgemischt.
