Most people may not think so, but bowling is definitely a physical activity.  I started bowling a few years ago.  When I threw that light ten pound bowling ball down the alley, I was lucky if it reached a speed of nine miles per hour; I was also lucky if I broke a score of one hundred.  I now fire my fourteen pound fingertip bowling ball down the alley at speeds around sixteen miles per hour; likewise, my scores have improved.  How did I improve?  Practice.  As track runners might walk around the day after practice with cramps in their legs, I often spent my day after a long night of bowling with gluteus maximus crampsno pleasure, I assure you.  However, it has paid off.  My current high score is 236 and my goal is to top that (twice what I would have called a good score when I started).

At Vanderbilt University, I joined the Bowling Team.  I try to continue my bowling hobby at Berkeley, though it's not as easy since there is no team here.
